Stephen K. Curry

Stephen K. Curry is the founder of Endurance Advisory, where he advises the management teams and boards of national and regional banks, financial services firms, and private investor groups. He has served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Gateway First Bank and as President of Beal Bank, a $23 billion wholesale bank.

Curry's advisory work spans acquisitions and divestitures, merger integration, charter strategy, digital transformation, operational restructuring, growth strategy, governance and risk management, and the resolution of complex regulatory matters.

As Chief Executive Officer of Gateway Mortgage Group, Curry led the 2019 merger with Farmers Exchange Bank that formed Gateway First Bank, converting one of the largest privately held mortgage originators in the United States into a full-service chartered bank. He went on to serve as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Gateway First Bank. As President of Beal Bank, he led a $23 billion wholesale institution.

For more than 25 years, Curry held senior leadership roles at Bank of America and its predecessor institutions NationsBank and NCNB. Those included executive positions in business development and strategic planning, and chief operating officer and financial management roles across the Corporate & Investment Banking, Capital Markets, and Community & Commercial Banking divisions. He began his career at Republic Bank in Dallas, Texas, in 1986.

Curry has served on the boards of OneTrust Mortgage and GuideIT. His civic service includes board roles with the Tulsa Youth Symphony and the Indian Nations Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
